November 7th

Today I am thankful for Daylight Savings Time and I wish it would come back. Not only is winter cold and depressing, but now it is cold and dark and depressing.

The only thing good about the end of DST is that you get an extra hour to sleep in. Not so any more when you have kids who don't understand that concept and still get up at the same time they normally do.

I suppose this post sounds rather negative when it is supposed to sound thankful but I am just accentuating how much I hate when DST ends in order for you to understand how much I love it when it is here :-)

Although I do really think that they should switch it all around and have DST in the winter so it's not as depressing and then end it for the summer since it's already light until about 9pm and summer nights are beautiful and not depressing at all. So if anyone knows who I can call to get DST switched around... let me know! And I will be sure to tell them thanks :-P

  1. Just think, it could be worse! Over here in Sweden the sun doesn't rise until almost 8:30 am and it sets before 3:00 pm. By the time we leave in December, we will have no official "sunrise" or "sunset" time because you never see the sun. It will just get a little lighter. Think of it that way and I'm sure you'll be more thankful.

By the way, I miss Elijah. And Zoe is adorable. Can I PLEEEAAASE babysit your children when I'm back in December?!

  2. I think there are a couple states that don't follow DST...like maybe New Mexico??

  3. Thanks Tina, I definitely appreciate it here much more, I think I would have to go tanning every day in Sweden to make up for the lack of sunlight :-P And yes you can babysit my children, that way you will definitely not want to have kids anytime soon!! :-P

And Alaina, I believe you are correct, I'm not sure what states they are though. I think it is definitely some of the warmer southern ones because they don't really need it. Ahhh, to live in a warm place... *sigh*
